I've seen firsthand that there isn't a duplicate content penalty, although submitting unique articles can definitely have it's benefits.

Whilst there may be no "technical penalty" for using duplicate content (if we want to get pedantic about things), unless you have a very specific reason for doing so (or can manipulate the content to make it appear unique), it's not going to generate any real traffic from organic search engine rankings. It will however "water down your page rank" if that matters to you, and it might.

There are reasons why you might want to include it however, primarily if it adds value to your website visitors, but the whole duplicate content issue is something I'll have to discuss in a future post - it's much too large for a comment ;-0

BTW - The trouble with the video above is that it focuses on duplicate content on the same website (and the information it provides in that respect is pretty valid) - where as most people refer to duplicate content (and have for years) as having the same content on multiple websites i.e. the same article published on several hundred different websites. The video linked above is simply adding to the confusion around the term "duplicate content" in respect to how the SEO community applies it - something which Google is pretty good at doing ;-0

RE:Unique Article Wizard

The only reason to use this resource would be to avoid a duplicate content penalty. The basic fact is, however, THERE IS NO DUPLICATE CONTENT PENALTY. This is one of those marketing myths that has taken on a life of its own.

Consult this recent video blog post:

<a href="http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2009/09/duplicate-content-and-multiple-site.html" rel="nofollow">Duplicate Content Penalty</a>

Hope this clears this issue up.
