Article Marketing Expert

By Allen Graves – Resident Article Marketing & Promotion Expert

Throughout the years I’ve been asked this question over and over again. It’s an unavoidable question, one that has been asked millions of times by hundreds of thousands of people. As humans (and “businesspersons”), we naturally want to find out what part of our business is the most important – and improve upon that particular aspect first and foremost.

So the question is inevitably raised…

“What is the most important part of article marketing?”

And I’m sure you’ve all heard the correct answer before. The most important part of article marketing is, without a doubt, a keyword-focused, attention grabbing title!

But wait just a minute, haven’t you also heard that the most important part is an irresistible call to action in your resource box?

No?

Oh, then it must be the convincing and compelling, flowing article body, right?

Hmm…

What about the guy that says it is all about keyword research and placement within the article?

Or what about those fundamentalists who say that no matter what you do, as long as your content is original, the article will do great and will rank well for any number of keyword phrases.

So which person is right?!

Who should you listen to?

The answer is actually pretty simple, and I’m going to lay it all out for you right now.

Keep Your Main Goal In Mind…

One of the key points in article marketing that most people tend to forget is exactly why they are doing it in the first place. Once you get into the nuts and bolts of an article marketing campaign, it’s very easy to lose sight of the main goal and resort to trying to discover which part of their campaign is more important… and improve upon that.

While this works with a lot of different internet marketing techniques, when it comes to article marketing, things are little different.

The fact is that there is no “most important” part of article marketing. If anyone tries to tell you that something is the most important, turn around and run the other way because they are probably going to try and sell you something.

Let me ask you a couple of questions.

What good is a great title if the article body sucks so badly that they never get to your resource box?

Yes, the article body is important too, but if your resource box won’t convert, then what’s the point?

And you can have the highest converting resource box in the history of the world, but if nobody opens your article because it’s targeting the wrong keywords or the title is awful, then what have you accomplished?

And there is a LOT more to a successful article marketing campaign than a good title, body and resource box. Each of these facets of article marketing have to be given mutual respect and attention. If you’re unsuccessful at any one of them, or fail to give them the proper attention, then you are at high risk of sub-par results.

Sound familiar?

The Puzzle

This may make things a little more clear.

I have always compared article marketing to a jigsaw puzzle. Each aspect of article marketing (title, body, keywords, etc…) is an individual piece of the puzzle.

In order for you to complete the puzzle (a successful article), then you’ve got to have all the pieces, you have to pay attention to each of them, and you have to place them all in the right spots.

So the first thing you need to do is to start gathering your puzzle pieces:

  • Objectives (traffic, build loyalty, build list, etc…)
  • State of Mind
  • Keyword Research
  • Best Places To Submit Your Articles
  • Pen Name(s)
  • Article Title
  • Article Summary – yes, it’s important too!
  • Article Keywords
  • Article Content (Body)
  • Resource Box
  • Promotion Strategy
  • Believe it or not, even more!

Don’t worry, we’ll be covering all of these “puzzle pieces” and more in the coming weeks.

Learning them all can be a bit daunting at first, but with a little time and common sense (and subscribing to this blog), you’re going to learn them all. Just take it one step at a time and you’ll have it all down before you know it.

Next, you need to put the pieces together and complete your puzzle. Simple, right?

Well, maybe not so easy at first, but I assure you, if you remain focused and start incorporating them into your article marketing campaign one by one, you will begin to see a significant difference. And this difference will become addictive, pushing you to move forward!

But don’t wait!

Start writing articles and getting them out there! Whether you write them for use on your own site or you plan on submitting them to article directories, blogs or other authority websites, nothing is going to happen until you do a little work. So get started right away. You’ll be able to use your initial articles for basic testing and baseline data.

Conclusion

So we’ve answered the question. There is no “most important” part of article marketing.

If you ever see anyone trying to pass something off as the most important part of article marketing, now you know that they probably have ulterior motives.

A successful article marketing campaign involves several different facets which must be given equal attention. One should never be considered more important than the other, and collectively they can be a goldmine!

An important thing to remember is that our main objective is not to drive boatloads of traffic to our website, or to get a ton of backlinks pointing to our site. These are the fringe benefits of running a successful campaign, not the main goal. Keeping these things at the forefront of your mind will only serve to lower the quality of your article(s).

I’ve seen so many people jump into article marketing with the wrong goal in mind. They think of it purely as a way to get that extra traffic and higher rankings for their website, not realizing that the traffic is useless if it doesn’t turn into paying customers.

So although there is no most important PART of article marketing, there is a most important GOAL. And this goal is what we all ultimately want in a successful article marketing campaign – conversions, lead generation and sales.

Always remember that a ton of traffic is useless if you’re making no money.

Running a successful article marketing campaign will take care of this for you! So bookmark this blog or subscribe to the feed, and be on the lookout for the first puzzle pieces!

Good luck and keep writing!
