Affiliate Link vs Normal Link -- Posted by Norm on 01-14-04 17:22
Hi,
I am currently building a content site and I am reviewing/comparing
programs and systems. Would you as a reader of my site feel that if I
use an affiliation link would make my review impartial to the products
I can't receive commission from?
I want to develop a quality site not just with links, I am worry that
it just be another directory!
Thanks in advance
Norm

This last sentence seems contradictory. Affiliate links tend to
undermine any confidence one might have in your impartiality.

More content and less affiliate links = quality.

If you must have affiliate links:
1. Don't link only to your affiliates.
1a. Provide affiliate links for products you review but don't recommend.
Keep it equal.
2. Make sure the viewer knows they are affiliate links.
3. Don't rely solely on the links. Build content - quality content. Make the
viewer believe you b/c you provide good information, not b/c you'll make a
buck from their believability.

If I knew what was going on I'd really be indignant.
