DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 2, 1998--Rocky Mountain Internet Inc. (NASDAQ SmallCap Market:RMII, RMIIW) announced today that it will offer high-speed T-1 Internet access to Colorado customers at a substantial discount.
RMI's promotion runs from November 1, 1998 to November 30, 1998 and includes free full T-1 line installation, as well as three months free Internet access when customers sign a 15-month contractual agreement. The retail value of installation totals $1,126.50. The free service months are valued at approximately $3,750 and are credited to the last three months of the subscriber's service. The promotional savings for the full T-1 connection total about $5,000.
"RMI wants to give businesses a chance to see what this kind of Internet speed can do for their productivity," said Douglas H. Hanson, chairman, president and CEO. "Foregoing the initial cost of installation is a measure RMI wanted to take to attract customers who might not normally be able to afford this high speed alternative. They get a fast connection, and we get more loyal customers."
Fractional T-1 promotions are also available with RMI offering bandwidth speeds of 256 kbps, 512 kbps and 768 kbps at $500, $600 and $700 per month, respectively.
The T-1 dedicated phone connection supports transmission rates of up to 1.544 Mbps. The line is entirely digital and consists of 24 individual channels, each of which supports 64 kbps.
