INDUSTRY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 27, 1999--

Cumetrix Data Systems Corp. (Nasdaq:CDSC), an online retailer and national provider of system configuration and distribution services, Thursday announced that it has introduced a $299 personal computer available for immediate delivery through its e-commerce site www.suredeals.com

According to Max Toghraie, chief executive officer of Cumetrix: "This system represents a breakthrough in quality, performance and price. We have included a powerful AMD K62-350 megahertz processor and many other features and functions usually found in PCs at much higher prices.

"Additionally, we have included a one-year Cumetrix repair and replacement warranty, which seems to be an increasing demand of the computer-savvy consumer. We regard this as further validation of our strategy to establish strategic relationships with key suppliers and manufacturers in order to introduce products of highest quality at very attractive price points through Suredeals.com."

Separately, the company announced that it has launched a multifaceted advertising program with PC World Online (www.pcworld.com), one of the Internet's most popular sites for PC-proficient shoppers. The ad campaign will include participation in PC World Online's "ShopNow" section, subscription-based e-mail promotions and banner advertising.

"We are extremely pleased that Cumetrix has chosen our site as the cornerstone of their Internet advertising program," said Sandy Schackman, associate publisher, PC World Technology Network. "Our audience consists of more than 1.8 million unique PC-proficient shoppers every month who are looking for the types of values offered on Suredeals.com."

The next phase of the ad campaign will include mass media such as national radio and cable television as well as expansion of the company's Internet campaign, Toghraie said. "Initially, we feel that Internet advertising is our most efficient advertising medium. Millions of people are shopping on the Internet every day. We want to be sure those people are aware of the tremendous values that are available at Suredeals.com."

Cumetrix Data Systems is a national provider of automated custom configuration and component distribution services. Through Internet Data Exchange (Interdax), its wholly owned Internet subsidiary, the company has invested in and operates various Internet-related ventures. The company has headquarters in City of Industry.
