CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 8, 2004

LadasDomains LLC has been approved for accreditation to become a domain name registrar. This accreditation is unique in this industry, as LadasDomains LLC becomes the first U.S. based law firm affiliated domain name registrar. Receiving this ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) approval allows LadasDomains to put their plan into motion: to set a new standard for domain name registration.

LadasDomains was created to protect the consumer, by offering brand owners the same discipline and personal attention one would expect from a law firm. "There is no reason why a domain name should not be treated as seriously as a trademark. Companies would never "spin off" their core brands and patents to be managed by a shaky and unstable third party," said Paul McGrady, Director of Operations, LadasDomains. "We treat domains with the same attention as our affiliate, Ladas & Parry LLP, handles trademarks and patents."

Brand owners have let it be known that security is one of their biggest concerns. "We have our system set up with security and safety in mind," said McGrady. "We would never allow a domain to lapse due to nonpayment as happened to the Washington Post and to the Microsoft Hotmail free e-mail service. For instance, our registrar system has automatic renewal as a default setting so there are no disastrous surprises."

LadasDomains plans to set the standard for legitimate domain name registration and maintenance practice by bringing the discipline, experience and sophistication of its law firm heritage to the management and preservation of domain name rights.

"This is not about facilitating mob filings. The entire purpose of this enterprise is to support established, legitimate brand owners with their efforts to protect consumers and with their right to extend brands into the burgeoning Internet environment," said Dermot Horgan, Vice President of LadasDomains.

Having LadasDomains based on a solid, nearly 100 year-old business model versus the dot-bust business models of some other registrars is another unique feature of this company. Stability is also enhanced by not being dependant upon "retail" business and not being publicly traded.

Interested parties, who would like more information and/or a demonstration of the LadasDomains registrar system, should contact Paul D. McGrady Jr. at 312-427-1300.
