The Association for Interactive Media's Council for Responsible
E-mail (CRE) announced at the DMA net.marketing conference today the
imminent release of a comprehensive case studies project providing
successful e-mail marketing strategies garnered from the industry's
top e-mailers.
"CRE Case Studies: Guidelines for Successful E-mail Marketing" was
developed to help e-mailers achieve success in three major areas:
acquisition of new customers, management of existing customers and
generating list rental revenue. The case studies include e-mail
marketing insights from CRE members such as: Bigfoot Interactive,
Fingerhut, MessageMedia, ActiveNames, Worldata/Webconnect, Millard
Group, Quaero, ChooseYourMail.com and Responsys.
"These case studies will serve as guidelines that should significantly
increase the success of e-mailers' marketing campaigns, because they
have been compiled and authored by companies who have weathered and
learned from their past challenges," said Jay Schwedelson, chairman
of CRE and corporate vice president of WorlData/WebConnect. "Direct
e-mail marketers will now have a tangible resource that they can turn
to for help in better focusing their e-mail strategies."
As part of the Association for Interactive Media (AIM), CRE works to
promote e-mail as an effective marketing and customer service tool by
developing practical ethical guidelines and best practices for
companies with e-mail-related marketing services. Formed in early
1999, the Council now has more than 50 corporate members, which
regularly discuss the email industry and how to best advise Congress
on the possible effects of pending legislation on responsible
e-mailers.
"The project serves as a focal point for all e-mailers to actively work
together and better the environment for the future of the industry,"
AIM Executive Director Ben Isaacson said when announcing the new
project. "I encourage any company in the e-mail space to consider
participating with this ongoing effort."
The first version of the case studies project will be unveiled Oct. 16
at DMA Annual in New Orleans. As the e-mail marketing industry grows,
updated versions of the report will be published.
In addition to its proven record of accomplishments including the "Six
Resolutions for Responsible E-Mailers," CRE sponsors an ongoing
seminar series in cities across the country. It also holds discussion
forums for industry leaders to resolve developing issues and offers
members legislative updates and the opportunity to get involved in
pending regulatory matters.
