In what could be a sign of better days ahead for the online advertising industry, tech giant Microsoft [MSFT] has predicted 25 percent growth for the next fiscal year in online advertising for its MSN portal in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The company's upbeat sentiments differ greatly with the recent dim outlook on the Internet advertising sector, which has yet to recover from the dot-com bubble burst of two years ago.
Rivals such as Yahoo [YHOO], AOL Time Warner's [AOL] America Online and Terra Lycos [TRLY] have been particularly hit hard by the downturn in revenue from online advertising.
