People should understand that higher PageRank is not the license to higher rank in search result. I agree that PageRank play a big role on search result, but do not 100% depends on it.

The issue is build your website for people, not the search engine. If people like your website, Google will show you higher on search result.

I have a new website that I registered only a few weeks ago and have only had it up a couple of weeks.

All I did was social bookmark it and then post a couple of blog comments. It went onto the first page of google, msn and yahoo within a couple of days. Yahoo dropped it to number 38 and msn dropped it altogether within a few days. However it is at number 6 on google out of 14 million results. Hopefully I will have done enough to keep it there the next time google updates it.

I was amazed at this as normally I have no problems ranking in yahoo for a keyword term that is in the domain name but google did not seem to make it such an important part of their ranking strategy.

This SEO is always good to keep you guessing. Just when you thought you had is sussed, it comes along and bites you in the bum ;-)
